FEARNLEY James Arthur. Expense Store Accounts Officer, H.M.Dockyard, Malta, Born 2 5th November 1877 and died 2nd May 1941. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - He lived at My Nest, St Georges Street, Gzira, Malta. His effects went to James Douglas St Clair Fearnley, Corporal, Corps of Military Police. He was born in 1878 at Bradford Yorkshire to William and Lydia who in 1901 were living at White House Farm, Barkerend Road, Bradford. In 1911 he was serving in the army with No 99 Company, Royal Garrison Artillery, in Malta aged 33.

He joined up aged 18 years at Scarborough on the 23rd March 1896, occupation mill hand and he was serving with the Militia. He was posted as Private 14638 Royal Garrison Artillery Depot. From the 4th February 1898 to 16th October 1909 he was in Malta. From 17th October 1909 to the 23rd November 1911 he was back in England. At some stage he was posted to Londonderry, Ireland. On the 23rd February 1911 he left Londonderry for Malta. From the 24th February 1911 to the 11th June 1920 he was with 99 Coy, R.G.A. At the outbreak of the Great War he joined on the 5th August 1914 the Malta Expeditionary Force as Sergeant. He left Malta on the 11th June 1920 to await his discharge to pension after serving 24 years and 140 day. He finally left the 9th August 1920 to his home at, 434 Barkerend Road, Bradford, his parents farm.

Son, James Douglas St.Clair FEARNLEY, the son of James and Georgina Fearnley, Gunner, Royal Garrison Artillery, baptised 7th September 1902.

HARRINGTON John. Sergeant, 1863912, Royal Engineers, died 3rd/4th May 1941. The son of Daniel and Elizabeth Harrington, and husband of Marie Adelaide Harrington, of Aldgate, London
His memory is as dear today as on the day he passed away.
O'GRADY William Paul. Corporal, 1872375, 16 Fortress Company, Royal Engineers, died 3rd/4th May 1941, aged 23 years. The son of John P. and Mary O’Grady, of Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland. These laid the world away poured out the red sweet wine of youth.
