- Captain, James Allen Cottew BROWN, of South Shields. Died on the 21st September 1895 on board the S.S. Alonso of Hull aged 45. At rest in Ta Braxia Cemetery, Malta.
Wills and Admin. He lived at 108 Baring Street, South Shields, Master Mariner died at sea. His effects went to Mary Brown, (nee Purvis), widow and Matthew Hall, borough surveyor.
