JACKSON Hugh, Private 436733, C Company 49th Canadian Infantry, Alberta Regiment was killed in action near Ypres, Belgium 1st May 1916. He was born on the 24th October 1892 to Hugh and Maria nee Ringland of 83, Cheviot Avenue, Strandtown, Belfast, Ireland. In 1911 he was a Pupil Teacher and living with his parents and siblings at 83 Cheviot Avenue. He is commemorated on a family memorial in Comber Cemetery, County Down, Northern Ireland and is at rest in New Irish Farm cemetery, Belgium.
