Born 4 May 1919 at Comanury, County Cavan to Samuel and Jane Elizabeth Burrows, nee Barnett of Coote Hill, Co. Cavan, Irish Republic.
Killed at sea 12 February 1944 aged 25 whilst on the SS Khedive Ismail. The ship departed 6 February 1944 from Kilindini Harbour at Mombasa, Kenya to Colombo, Ceylon in Convoy KR-8. It was attacked and sunk by two torpedoes fired from a B1 type Japanese submarine in the Indian Ocean, 1,297 perished.
Commemorated on the Brookwood 1939-1945 Memorial, Surrey.
Probate: Isabella Burrows of Mountain Lodge, Cootehill, County Cavan. Spinster, died 12 February 1944 on war service. Probate 04 November 1944 (Llandudno) to Samuel Burrows, National Teacher. Effects: £345 9s. 8d. in England.
