To the glory of God and in memory of the brave lads of Hutton le Hole who fell in the
Great War 1914-1918

EMMITT, Albert Pratley (Memorial has Prattley), Albert (Enlisted as Emmitt), Private 241552, 5th Yorkshire Regiment killed in action 26th March 1918 aged 27. He was the son of Francis George and Hannah nee Emmitt who in 1901 were living in Hutton-le-Hole, Kirkby Moorside, Yorkshire, By 1911 his father had remarried to Mary Jane nee Stamp in 1906 and were still living in Hutton-le-Hole, Albert was working for farmer Richard Brown as a horseman. His birth name was Albert Pratley Emmitt born in 1891 same year his parents got married, but it appears that Albert arrived to early.
He is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France

IPSON, William, Lance Bombardier 117420, 5th Royal Garrison Artillery died 15th August 1920 aged 22. He was the son of Mrs Esther Foster of Thorpe Bassett, Malton Yorkshire. Born at Scarborough, Yorkshire. He is at rest in North Gate War Cemetery, Baghdad, Iraq

1939-1945

FRANK, Christopher, Gunner 932156, 5th Royal Horse Artillery died the 14th June 1943 aged 24. He was the son of Herbert and Margaret Ann nee Swales of Hutton-le-Hole and husband of Winifred Enid, nee Last of Chelmsford, Essex, He fought in North Africa. He is at rest in Tripoli War Cemetery, Libya
