House of the Wannsee Conference Memorial and Educational Site

What is this place?

The Wannsee Conference was organized by Reinhard Heydrich, Chief of the German State Police and of the SD ("Sicherheitsdienst", "Security Service of the SS"). The goal of this conference was the debate of the so-called "Final Solution of the Jewish Question". At the Wannsee Conference, Heydrich wanted to harmonize the organisation and implementation of that "Final Solution" with every office and administrative department that was to participate in it.

Great Pic. I remember seeing on TV a re-enactment of this conference and it made for chilling viewing, watching how the fate of millions was decided in cold, calculating conversation, without any representative actually saying, "We're going to murder all the Jews....", but knowing that was what they meant. Frightening to think that such people and ideas actually existed.
