Herbert ASHBY of 17, Manchester Road, Knutsford died 28th April 1944 on war service. He effects went to his widowed mother Edith Jane Ashby. CWGC have, Sergeant 10538067, Royal Army Ordnance Corps died 28th April 1944 aged 23. He was the son of Henry and Edith of Knutsford, Cheshire. He is commemorated on a family memorial in Knutsford Cemetery, Cheshire and is at rest in Chittagong War Cemetery, India
