SOUTHAM Harry. Private 5930, 2/7th Durham Light Infantry. Died 1st February 1917 aged 29. Son of George and Mary Southam; husband of Kathleen Southam, of The Moors, Newbold-on-Stour. . Some notes from what remains of his army records. He joined up in the7th September 1916 aged 25 and 5 months, occupation garden labourer. He was living at The Moors with his wife, Sarah Kathleen nee Coldicott who he married on the 24th November 1915 at St David's Church, Newbold on Stour and their child, Aubrey Harry born on the 9th November 1916 at Newbold on Stour. While in training he was taken ill at Andover, Hampshire. He was admitted into 303rd Field Ambulance Reception Hospital, Andover on the 1st February 1917 suffering from acute nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys) he died the same day. At rest in St David Churchyard, Newbold on Stour, Warwickshire.
