HALL, William George

Late Company Sergeant Major, The King's Shropshire Light Infantry died 19th May 1925 aged 49. Buried in Whitechurch Cemetery, Shropshire

Retreaved some information from his Short Service Record.
Prior to enlistment 17th November 1914 he had already served 21 years with K.S.L.I. as Corporal, 3058 and on enlistment promoted to Sergeant 201046 and then on the 7th March 1915 promoted to C.S.M. He was born in 1874 and lived at 39, Talbot Street, Whitchurch and he gave his sister Jane Hall of 9, Landrur Road, Bow, London East as his next of kin. His service was terminated at Military Hospital Pembroke Dock where underwent a fitness medical for the war. It was deamed being over 40 years of age he was not considered fit for active service overseas in infantry other than Garrison Battalions. Auth:- W.O.Letter 27/Gen: No:6867 A.G..2a of 11th May 1918
