Flying Officer (Pilot) 8029398C Ian Michael 'Mongo' Halden, 19 (F) Squadron, Royal Air Force from RAF Wildenrath, tragically lost in the Falklands 30th October 1991 aged 25 while serving his country
He and Flight Lieutenant (Navigator) 8027076F Christopher James 'CJ' Weightman were both killed when their plane, Phantom FG1, dived into the sea out of cloud during a combat practice 50 miles north of Stanley, Falkland Isles. They were based at 1453 Flight, RAF Mount Pleasant
