He died suddenly on his ship in Malta Harbour 18th August 1952 aged 34. His residence in England was Whitstone House, Bovey Tracey, Devonshire. Husband of Patricia M nee Bedford. His effects went to Ethel Freda Katherine Bedford, Spinster. At rest in Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta Plot H Grave 176
