H167 Victor Herbert Montague CORDWELL. Lieutenant Royal Navy, HMS Falcon. Born 7 April 1913 in Cairo, Egypt to Charles Edward Cordwell, DCM (from Woodchester Glos) and Violet Emma Nee Smith (from India). Enlisted 11 September 1828 as Boy Class 2 JX132265 on ship HMS Ganges. At the age of 18 he signed up for a period of 12 years on the 7 April 1931. Killed 31st October 1950 aged 37 at sea along with Arthur Jopling. His residence was 17 Wyndham Street, Plymouth. His effects went to Vera Jane Cordwell, nee Bone, widow, Jeffery Leonard Wilby Cordwell, Major in the army.
