Born 9 January 1900 at Skegness, Lincolnshire to Charles Fred and Jane Marian Grantham, nee Hildred. 1901 residing with his parents and siblings at Roman Bank, The Hall, Skegness, Lincolnshire.
Entered service 4 June 1918. Sub Lieutenant 15 January 1921. Lieutenant 31 August 1922. Lieutenant Commander 15 February 1922. Commander 15 February 1960.
Married 1934 to Beryl Marjorie Mackingtosh Walker who died 1991. In 1939 residing with his wife on the ground floor of No 1, Atherstone Terrace, Queens Gate, Kensington, London. Died 8 September 1992.
