GILLAN, David

Private 877467, David GILLAN, 85th Canadian Infantry . He was shot in the back of the neck during the riots at Kinmel Park Camp on the 5th March 1919. He was the son of John and Mary Gillan of Florence, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. formerly of (in 1901) 28. Hope Street, Lanarkshire. He was born 2nd December 1898 and left Lanarkshire with his parents and brother John, from Glasgow, Scotland on the 25th April 1903 bound for Halifax, Canada on passenger ship, Mongolian. He is at rest in St Margaret Churchyard, Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire Wales.
