Pics like this always remind me just how expensive war is even on a logistics basis. I can't imagine fuel economy of a Panzer III being much better than 2 or 3 gallons per mile... and we see here an armored column miles in length.
The cost of moving an armored division into position had to be staggering simply from a fuel standpoint.
