Major, Gerard Lewis FANSHAWE, Royal Engineers who died of fever at Sliema on the 24th June 1904 aged 38. He was the son of Thomas Basia, retired General and Emily Catherine who in 1881 were living with their children at 20, Park Street, Walcot, near Bath, Somerset. In 1891 he was now a Lieutenant with the Royal Engineers stationed at St Mary's Royal Engineer Barracks, Brompton, Kent. His effects went to Elizabeth Ann Grace Fanshawe, widow. This tablet is in the Holy Trinity Church, Sliema, Malta., and he is at rest in Ta Braxia Cemetery, Malta.
