Sapper 1079 George Vizard, 1/2nd (South Midland) Field Company, Royal Engineers (Brief note from his army record. He received a gunshot wound to his head whilst in action on the 20th August 1916 and died the same day), aged 19, only son Albert Henry and Edith Mary, of Rock House, Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire. Commemorated on a family Memorial in St John the Baptist Chapelyard, Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire. At rest in Varennes Military Cemetery, Somme, France.
St John the Baptist Chapelyard is part the cemetery. Looking at the cemetery from the road, is is down the right near the hedge.
