George Sephton WHITLEY

Lieutenant George Sephton WHITLEY died 20th September 1950 aged 54 at the Belfast City Hospital. At the time of his death he was living at 1A Pine Street, Belfast. He was the son of Thomas and Rachel Lloyd. He is at rest with his parents in Dundonald Cemetery, County Down, Northern Ireland. He was born in 1895 in the registration district of Prestwich, Lancashire. He may have been Sergeant 8/13850 Royal Irish Rifles.
London Gazette dated 3rd November 1925.
2nd Lieutenant G S Whitley, promoted to Lieutenant, Royal Ulster Rifles on the 2nd July 1925
London Gazette dated 4th March 1930
He resigned his commission on the 5th March 1930. He was serving with the Royal Ulster Rifles.
