Born at Thornton-le-Moors Cheshire to John Richard and Emily Blackburn, of Orrell House Farm, Ostlers Lane, Mobberley, Knutsford, Cheshire. At rest in Morey Abbey Military Cemetery, France
He is commemorated on the Knutsford WW 1 War Memorial which is in the Knutsford War Memorial Cottage Hospital
