Lieutenant, George Harold MATTHEWS. 2nd Gloucestershire Regiment. Wounded at Kheis, 28th May 1900. Died 2 days later at Prieska. Aged 22. Born May 1878. 2nd son of Thomas Gadd Matthews and Annie Maud Rankin Matthews of Newport Towers, Newport, near Berkeley, Gloucestershire, 30 May 1900, of wounds received in action at Kaheis, South Africa two days previously, aged 22.
