Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery cap insignia set. From the beginning of the North African campaign until the end of the War, 'Monty' rejected the issue generals visor cap in favour of his now famous black beret. Uniquely, he wore two badges together on his beret. The first was his wire bullion Generals cap insignia and the second the metal badge of the Royal Tank Regiment, recognizing the importance of armour in the desert war.
