G057 JAMES HICKS GOOD. 3rd Engineer Mercantile Marine on S.S. Pancras. Born 1885 to James Hicks and Mary Ann Good nee Wingent. 1891 residing with parents 16 Victoria Road, Higher Tranmere, Birkenhead. 1901 still at the same address with his parents and siblings. Occupation apprentice engineer. Died 3rd May 1918 aged 32 years through enemy action when the engine room of his ship was hit by a torpedo from a German submarine, two died. The ship was able to make its way back to Malta where the dead personnel were buried. The other person killed was storekeeper Harry Edward Pritchard at rest in Plot C Grave 371.
