- G132 EDWARD MITFORD BARFF. Lieutenant Royal Navy on HMS Penelope. Born 13 May 1912 youngest son to John Alister and Mabel Caroline Barff, nee Goodeve of Havant, Hampshire. In 1911 his parents and siblings were residing at Zardin, Lower Bourne, Farnham. Died at Corradino, Malta 28th January 1939 aged 27 years from multiple injuries caused by falling down an underground shaft. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence in England was Merton South Leigh Road, Havant, Hampshire. His effects went to John Alister Barff retired army captain.
At rest in Plot G grave 132 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
His brother George Frederick Alister Barff, Lieutenant Colonel. 41060 Royal Artillery. Born 25 May 1909 at Notting Hill, Kensington died on a yacht in Sicily 3 July 1953 and is at rest in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta, Plot 1, row 5, grave 4.
