Extended Description
ARCHIBALD HAMILTON. Midshipman, Royal Navy on HMS Resolution, drowned as the result of a flying accident of Malta 25th May 1932 aged 18 years. He may have been under instruction when the biplane Ripon S1265 of 462 Flight, HMS Glorious which ditched in the sea off Ras il Pellegrin, west coast of Malta Born 19 February 1914, younger son of Colonel Claude Campbell Hamilton Royal Artillery and Veronica Hamilton, nee Boswell of Rozelle, Ayr, Scotland. His instructor Paul Leslie IRVEN also died after a brave attempt to help Archibald who is at rest in G 111 in this cemetery.
