G111 PAUL LESLIE HYLDER DUNDAS IRVEN. Lieutenant Royal Navy (Flying Instructor) of HMS Glorious. Born 17 October 1908, younger son of Captain Paul Irven, Royal Navy and Essie Constance nee Dundas. Enlisted into the Royal Navy 15 May 1922, promoted to Lieutenant 6 August 1931. He was flying a Ripon S1265 of 462 Flight, on HMS Glorious which ditched in the sea off Ras il Pellergrin, west coast of Malta the 25th April 1932 aged 23 attempting to save Midshipman Archibald Hamilton. He died of his injuries waiting to be rescued.
Both are at rest in this cemetery, Hamilton at rest in G.112.
