G099 CLIFFORD GEORGE EVANS PENMAN. Lieutenant Commander, retired, S.S. Yacht Gwenyth. Born 25 March 1897 at Gravesend, Kent to George Evans and Katherine Amelia Penman, nee Hampton. 1901 residing with his parents at Gravesend, Kent. 1911 residing with his parents at Crockers Place, Cobham, nr Gravesend, Kent. He enlisted 1 September 1914 as Midshipman 2110, promoted to Midshipman 26 July 1916, Acting Sub-Lieutenant 15 September 1916, Sub-Lieutenant 15 May 1917. On the 27 May 1920 at his own request he was placed on Retired List with gratuity.
He was found with a gunshot wound to his head on yacht Gwenyth and taken to the Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta where he died 5th September 1928 aged 32 years. suicide.
At rest in Plot G grave 99 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
