FREDERICK STRIPLIN. CARPENTERS CREW 344391 ROYAL NAVY ON HMS HERMIONE BORN 28 APR 1881 ST ST DOMINICK CORNWALL. ENLISTED 7 AUG 1901 OCCUPATION PRIOR TO ENLISTMENT, CARPENTER. DIED 9 DEC 1902 AGED 21 HE DIED IN A MALTA HOSPITAL OF MULTIPLE INJURIES - RUPTURED SPLEEN CAUSED BY THE BREAKING DOWN OF A CAPSTAN ON BOARD HIS SHIP. THE CAPSTAN BAR STRUCK HIM IN THE BACK WHILST AN ANCHOR WAS BEING LOWERED. SON OF JOSEPH AND PRISCILLA. IN 1891 HE WAS LIVING WITH HIS PARENTS AND SIBLINGS AT SALTASH PASSAGE ST BUDEAUX CORNWALL. HIS MOTHER WAS INFORMED OF HIS DEATH 15.12.02.
