Born 1875, baptised 2 June 1875 to Thomas and Mary nee Carter. 1881 to 1891 residing with his parents and siblings at Sinwell, Wotton-under-Edge. 1891 his occupation was a mill hand. 1901 residing with his wife and children at Sinwell, occupation, elastic weaver. 1911 residing with his wife and children at Valley Road, Wotton-under-Edge, occupation, an elastic braider. The 26 February 1898 he married Ellen Maria Mitchell at St Mary the Virgin Church, Wotton-under-Edge, occupation Elastic Weaver. Fought in France died 16 February 1921 in the registration district of Dursley aged 47. At rest in grave 14, Wotton-Under-Edge Cemetery, Gloucestershire
