Frank Claude HOCKING. Able Seaman 214573, Royal Navy on HMS Aboukir. Born 14th August 1885 at Stoke Damerel, Devon to William and Elizabeth. In 1901 he was living with his parents and siblings at Merryfield House, Merryfield, Cornwall. Enlisted 7th May 1901, occupation prior to enlistment, still at school. Died 3rd July 1908 aged 23 years of pulmonary tuberculosis of lungs at a hospital in Malta. . His mother was informed of his death 6th July 1908. This stone was erected by his shipmates. At rest in Plot B Grave 162, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta
