G129 Miss FRANCES EDMONDS. Nursing sister, Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Nursing Service, stationed at Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta. Born 31 July 1888 at Queen’s Town, County Cork. 1911 probationary nurse aged 22 at Birmingham General Hospital, Warwickshire. Her next of kin was her sister Miss H J Edwards of 9 Westward Road, Southampton. She was in the Reserve service from 4 August 1914 to 7 October 1918.
25 February 1920 to 29 November 1922 nursing sister at Plymouth Hospital. 23 November 1923 posted to Chatham Naval Hospital. 10 September 1926 posted to Malta from Chatham. Joined Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta 19 September 1926.
Transferred to Haslar Royal Naval Hospital from Malta 22 August 1929 joining Haslar 27 August 1929.
11 January 1935 posted back to Malta on SS with the rank of Superintending Sister
Died suddenly while doing rounds of the wards at the place of work 16th June 1937 from coronary occlusion. (obstruction of blood flow in a coronary artery). Wills and Admin, Ancestry - Her residence was given as Royal Naval Hospital, Haslar, Hampshire and died at her place of work. Her effects went to (Nurse) Ellen Josephine Edmonds, spinster.

At rest in Plot G grave 129 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
