Florence Amelia WILLIS. Sister 9 Nurses/ W3287. TFNS attached to 4th London General Hospital.
She joined up 22 February 1916 as sister in Ruskin Park extension, 4th London General Hospital. She died of Malignant Papilloma of the Bladder aged 42 at 11-50 am 15 December 1919 aged 42 at Queen Alexandra's Military Sister’s Hospital, Millbank, London. Her brother Sidney George Willis was granted a gratuity 31 May 1920.

Enlisted 22 February 1916 and was a sister in Ruskin Park extension, 4th London General Hospital, London. Prior to enlistment she was a Theatre Sister in the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Kent and Sister in the men’s surgical ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, Berkshire. Her home address was 97 Cambridge Road, Seven Oakes Essex.

Her disability originated in January 1919 when she complained of pain in her bladder and dysuria in January 1919 in England. She was admitted 30 January 1919 for an exploration operation on her right kidney at Kings College Hospital Denmark Hill London and found it strangulated, it was incised and drained. July 1919 she was admitted into Millbank Military Hospital with an inoperable carcinoma of the bladder. Suprapubic cystostomy performed 22 July 1919, malignant papilloma found, infiltrating rectum, bladder and vagina. Fecal fistula between bladder, rectum and vagina. Colostomy performed 28 July 1919. Patient was gradually sinking remaining in hospital. This disability was not contracted before the service and she was permanently unfit for further military service and was invalided 03 October 1919. September 1919 she was transferred from 4th London General to Q.A.I.M.N.S Sister’s Hospital. She was too ill to be moved from Queen Alexandra Hospital, Millbank London. She was gradually sinking (discharged cancelled) to 03 January 1920. She died of Malignant Papilloma of the Bladder aged 42 at 11-50 am 15 December 1919 Queen Alexandra Hospital, Millbank London.
