F078 PERCY HANKINS, Sergeant. Wireless Operator/Air Gunner, 910438, Royal Air Force (VR), 59 Squadron. Son of Percy S.C. and Gertrude C.Hankins, of Wimbledon, Surrey. Died 18th January 1942 aged 24 years.

Both Sgt Alan William Story (Pilot) and Sgt Percy Hankins (WOp/AG) were killed whilst flying in Lockheed Hudson III, V9126 of the OADU, which crashed on the approach to RAF Luqa at Siggiewi on the second leg of a ferry flight to the Far East.
