F015 GEORGE BUNNETT, Sergeant, 1325479, Royal Air Force (VR), 148 Squadron. He was part of a six-man crew of Halifax Bomber Serial Number HF887 which crashed at RAF Luqa on the 7 December 1942 he was killed.

The Vickers Wellington bomber Mk IC, Serial Number HF887 was carrying crew of six and six RAF Passengers. They were near the end of a (re-location) Ferry Flight. They took off at 17.54 hrs from (ALG) Advance Landing Ground at North Africa for RAF Luqa, Malta. As the aircraft was approaching Luqu on the 7th December 1942 the plane swung on approach, bounced, stalled and hit a dispersal pen. The aircraft was destroyed by fire.
F015 JOHN IRVING KITCHEN. Flight-Sergeant, 560634 Royal Air Force, 148 Squadron. Born 29 April 1910 at Liverpool, Lancashire to Samuel and Mary Ann Kitchen, nee Woosman. He was a passenger being relocated to RAF Luqa on a Vickers Wellington Mk IC Bomber Serial Number HF887 Ferry flight from North Africa to Malta which crashed at RAF Luqa on the 7 December 1942 he was killed.

F015 CLIFFORD ROY GRANDFIELD. Sergeant, Wireless Operator/Air Gunner, 1253914, Royal Air Force (VR), 148 Squadron. Born 1922 in the Registration district of Bromley, Kent to James and Florence Edith Grandfield nee Dawson. Died 8th December 1942 from injuries received in a Wellington bomber plane crash the previous day at RAF Luqa, Malta.

His father and brother, James Grandfield and brother Stanley Jace were killed by enemy action on the 9 February 1945 aged 62 years at 14 West Common Road. His father resided with his wife at 14 West Common Road, Hayes. West London. Stanley resided at 32 West Common Road, with his wife Irene May. Both at rest in Bromley Cemetery, Kent. His father had previously served in the Royal Air Force, enlisting 30 May 1917 as Aircraftman 130594.
