F012 TREVOR LEWIN JONES. Leading Stoker, D/KX85153 Royal Navy on Aircraft Carrier HMS Illustrious. Born 18 June 1913 at Llandilpawr, Carmarthen to William Henry and Clara Elizabeth Jones, nee Lewin and stepson of Mrs. Amelia A. Jones, of Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. In 1911 his parents and his siblings were residing at 10 Richmond Grove, South Reddish, Stockport, Cheshire. 1916 his mother passed away. His father remarried in 1921 in the registration district of Llandiofawr to Amelia A Wilson. 1939 he was in the navy and was residing at the Sailor Rest, St David’s Road, Holyhead, Anglesey, Wales. Died 10th January 1941 aged 27 years when the ship was attacked by German diver bombers being hit by 8 bombs while she was on convoy escorting duties.

F012 CHARLES RICHARD HERBERT. Ordinary Seaman P/JX325622 Royal Navy on HMS Petard. Born 2 November 1923 at Woburn Green, Buckinghamshire to William John and Sarah Annie Herbert, nee Morrice of Woburn Green, Buckinghamshire. Died on board his ship 25th April 1943 aged 19 years as the result of enemy bombing.

F012 REUBEN ISRAEL ROE. Leading Stoker, P/K61414 Royal Navy on HMS Petard. Formerly served as Gunner 295563 Royal Artillery, and Private 379263 Labour Corps. Born 22 August 1899 at Birmingham, Warwickshire to William Albino and Charlotte Roe, nee Wiseman. At the time of his baptism 27 September 1899 his parents were residing in a caravan at Erdington, Warwickshire, father’s occupation tool and scissor grinder 1911 residing with his parents and siblings at 2 Park Hill Road, Smethwick, Warwickshire. He enlisted into the navy 14 June 1923 on HMS Victory II, civilian occupation, tram driver and previously had served four years in the army. Died on board his ship 25th April 1943 aged 43 years as the result of enemy bombing. The injuries he sustained were upper third compound fracture of right femur, lower third tibia and fibula right leg. Battle casualty. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence in England was 33 Brisbane Road, Smethwick, Staffordshire. His effects to Henry Albino Roe, transport worker.
