Lance Corporal 9283 Ernest Edwin BUOY. 1st Coldstream Guards died 22 July 1917 aged 27. He was born 3 March 1890 (surname registered as BOOY), baptised 19 October 1890 at St Giles, Stanton St Quintin. Son of Henry and Emma Buoy, of Didmarton, Badminton, Gloucestershire. In 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Hinton Road, Dyrham and Hinton, Gloucestershire. 1911 residing with his widowed grandmother Eliza Booy at Churchill, West Kington, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, occupation farm labourer. At rest in Canada Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
