- Petty Officer, Royal Navy Canteen Service C/NX704643 killed in action at sea on H M S Lap Wing 20th March 1945 aged 32. Son of Annie Venetta Hughes and the late Private Harry Charles Hughes [who fell in 1917] and husband of Ethel of Trentham, Staffordshire.
Commemorated on a family memorial at Hartshill Cemetery, Hartshill, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and on the Chatham Naval Memorial, Kent
