Emmanuele TANTI. Stoker 1st Class K/49014, Storekeeper, Royal Navy on H.M.S. Louvain. Died 20 January 1918 aged 47 years. Born 1871 at Valletta, Malta. Son of the late Paolo Tanti and Vincenza Spiteri. Husband of Giuseppa Tanti, of 31, Strada Porta Marina, Senglea, Malta.

Commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial, Devon.

20 January1918, Louvain used as troop transport, was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-22 (Carl Bünte) in the Kelos Strait, in the Aegean Sea. 224 persons were lost.
