1901 residing with her parents and siblings at Arda, Bramley, Surrey. 1911 residing with her parents and siblings at Station Road, Bramley, Guilford.
Died at Bramley, Guildford 16 August 1915 aged 21
Laid to rest 19 August 1915 in Holy Trinity Churchyard, Bramley, Surrey.
Extract from Surrey Times -
21 August 1915, p. 10 reports Dorothy Ede’s funeral which was held at the cemetery chapel, Bramley. Her body was followed to the grave by a number of wounded soldiers from Thorncombe Street, the Matron (Miss Hope) and 30 Red Cross Nurses with the quartermaster and commandant. Also some from the men’s VAD of the 13th Surrey including the Commandant, Mr J M Courage and the Section leader, Mr Stone. 4 men from the VAD were bearers of the coffin of polished oak. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Vicar, Rev D Green assisted by the school’s chaplain, Rev C J Etty. Tributes included one from Winifred Luther [another St Catherine’s alumna who served with the Red Cross in France and was awarded the Croix de Guerre].
