- Mrs Elizabeth STATON, (nee Rees). Manageress of the Royal Naval Canteen died 27th May 1900 aged 49, wife of George. They were married in 1882 at Cardigan. She was born in St Dogmaels, Cardiganshire. George was born on the 1st October 1856 at Tormshaw, Devon. He volunteered for the Royal Navy on the 18th September 1872. His continuous service number was 21297B. He served on HMS Northumberland as Leading Seaman and was awarded in 1882 with the Egyptian Medal
Erected by the Men of the Mediterranean Squadron in token of sympathy and as a mark of respect and esteem.
