MARSH Edwin. Private 17727, 11th attached to 7th Gloucestershire Regiment died at Malta 12th December 1915 of gangrene of the feet due to frostbite contracted in Gallipoli, in the service of his country. He was born in Cymmer, Glamorganshire. Son of William who was granted a war gratuity on the 6th March 1916, revised on the 16th August 1919. In 1911 he was living with his parents William and Elizabeth Ashford at 14 Graig Wen Road, Cymmer, Porth, Glamorgan. He was employed as a coal miner hewer. This monument is erected by his mother and he is at rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
