Husband of Mary Alice Wells nee Eckersley, of Wigan. Died 10th January 1944 aged 43. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P1/R1/G15

Edwin Robert LEE. Gunner 1810988, 107 Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery. Born on the 15th April 1903 to Robert and Elizabeth Lee nee Prestidge , husband of Lily Martha Lee nee Kay, of Potters Bar, Middlesex. In 1911 he was living with his parents and siblings at3 Crossley Terrace Liverpool Road Holloway London Died 20th March 1944 aged 40. At rest in Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta. P1/R1/G15
His father joined the Army Service Corps on the 21st October 1914 at Aldershot as private 4063. Some notes from what remains of his army records. He was aged 35 occupation a ganger at London docks . Living with his wife and family 16 Wiltshire Row, Britport Place, Hoxton, Islington. He was married on the 13th August 1900 to Miss Elizabeth Ann Prestidge at St John the Baptist Church, Islington.
On the 20th October 1914 he was promoted to Corporal, posted to join the British Expeditionary Force in France on the 20th October 1915 and left for England on 16th January 1915. Whilst in England, location not known, he was promoted at Acting Sergeant on the 5th July 1915 with the 58 Labour Section, A Company, posted to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 13th September 1915 until the 4th November 1915 when he was posted back to England. He was on a Medical Board on the 10th March 1916 where he was medically discharged. Whilst in France he had Pneumonia January 1915, admitted to hospital 29th November 1914, transferred to England on the 17th January 1915. In England he had Dysentery, October 1915. He was discharged as being no longer physically fit for war service on the 12th April 1916. His debility was caused by Pneumonia and Dysentery whilst on active service he was aged 36.
