SOLOMON Edward Thomas. Private, 2240, 1st Herefordshire Regiment. Died 13th December 1915 of enteric fever at Military Hospital Valletta, Malta . Born at Truo, Cornwall, son of Edward Thomas who was granted a war gratuity on the 17th March 1916 his mother was called Elizabeth.

WARNER Claude Frederick Sidney. Private, 10480, 1st Royal Munster Fusiliers, formerly 5499 Lancers of the Line. Died 13th December 1915 in Malta from wounds or illness received while on active service at Gallipoli. Born and lived at Hoxton, Middlesex, son of Ellen who was granted a war gratuity on the 4th April 1916.

WHITEHURST John William. Private, 17982, 7th North Staffordshire Regiment, died 12th December 1915 at Malta. Son of Harriet Ann who was granted a war gratuity on the 18th March 1916, father called John and they lived at 37 Samuel Street, Packmoor, Staffordshire.

Some notes from what remains of his army records. He first joined up on the 26th November 1914 aged 26, occupation, collier. He was living at 3 Chapel Street, Brindley Ford, Staffordshire. He was posted as Private 15713 to the North Staffordshire Regiment. At his medical he was discharged from the army on the 4th December 1914. He had a medical condition, pain around his appendx which required an operation. On the 22nd July 1915 he joined up again into the North Staffordshire as Private 17982. He had previously served with the N.S.R, but was discharged. He lived at 3 Chapel Street, Brindley Ford, Staffordshire he was now aged 27, occupation, collier. His father John was his next of kin and he lived with mother, Harriett Ann at 37 Samuel Street, Packmoor, near Brindley Ford, Staffordshire. After he had completed his training he was posted to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force. He was wounded while on active service, invalided at a hospital in Malta where he died on the 12th December 1915 from his wounds. He had served 151 days.
His Will was made out to Miss Nellie Rushton of 3 Chapel Street, Brindley Ford, his home address.
