- Edward Joseph JONES. Lance Corporal 9585, 1st Essex Regiment. Born 1892, died 11th May 1915 aged 23 years, in hospital in Malta from tetanus following compound fracture to right femur. Son of Alfred and Hannah Jones, nee Grossmith of 43 Byron Road, Leyton, London. His father was granted a war gratuity on the 28th June 1916 revised 26th June 1919.
At rest in Plot B Grave 241, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
