HODSON Edith May (nee Bainton) Sacred to the memory of Edith May the dearly beloved wife of Gunner 1421441 Charles Joseph HODSON, (c 1902), Royal Artillery who departed this life at the Military Families Hospital, Imtarfa on 5th March 1936 aged 34. "Till we meet again. " On that happy Easter morning when the graves their dead restore. Father, sister, child and mother meet once more" They lived at Tigne Married Quarters, Malta She left a husband and children. She was born in 1901 at Crickhowell, Breconshire and was the daughter of Edith Eliza Bainton On the 9th November 1926 she left the port of Liverpool bound for Bombay, India aged 25, a nurse. Prior to embarkation she lived at Birchington on Sea, Kent. In 1927 in Bombay, India she married Charles Joseph Hodson and date not known returned to England. While in England three children were born. Alfred J C born 1928 in the registration district of West Bromwich. Patricia M born 1930 and Peter born 1932 both at Woolwich. On the 2nd May 1936 Charles, soldier in the artillery with 3 Medium Brigade, Royal Artillery, Alfred aged 7, Patricia aged 5 and Peter aged 3 disembarked at London Port from Malta. They were all going to Shoeburyness, Essex. At rest in Plot 1 Row 2 Grave 6. Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta.
