FISHER Edgar. Private 250191, 544th Home Service, Employment Coy, Labour Corp, formerly Private 9906, 1st Welch Regiment. Born 1889 to Mrs Fanny Fisher of Broad Campden. 1891 The family are recorded as Irvins and residing with James Irvins, Baker, at Broad Campden. His widowed mother was a dressmaker. 1901 with his widowed mother (now called Fisher) and siblings residing at the home of widower James Irvins, at Kitchen Lane, Broad Campden, Gloucestershire. His mother was his housekeeper. 1911 aged 20 serving in Egypt with the 1st Welch Regiment. Died in Hales Military Hospital, 27 June 1918 age 29 possible from the Spanish Flu (Influenza Pandemic 1918-1919). His mother was granted a war gratuity 30 September 1918, revised 11 December 1918 and 6 February 1920.
It appears that Fanny Fisher was a spinster and the daughter of John and Elizabeth Fisher of Chipping Campden. The 1881 she was residing with her parents and her four children; her occupation was a dressmaker

He is at rest in St Margaret Churchyard, Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire, North Wales.
Commemorated on Chipping Campden War Memorial, Gloucestershire.
