NEVILLE Charles, Captain, c Company, 1st Sherwood Foresters died of wounds on the 13th July 1916 aged 24. He was the son of James and Sarah Ellen Neville, of Abbeville Cottage, Lynncroft, Eastwood. Native of Eastwood, Nottingham. Obtained A. and B. Certificates while in O.T.C., Reading University. Placed in Special Reserve of Officers. Sent to France, December, 1914. In 1911 at the age of 19 he was a school teacher. He is commemorated on his parents' memorial in Eastwood Cemetery, Nottingham and he is at rest in Abbeville Communal Cemetery, Somme, France.

PHILLIPS-TAYLOR Albert, Private 10099, 2nd Sherwood Foresters . Born at Eastwood and lived at Mansfield, Woodhouse, Notts and was killed in action 20th October 1914 aged 26. He is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium. ( He served in the army as Albert Phillips).

SISSON Aaron, Private 2914 1/7th (Robin Hood Battalion) Sherwood Foresters, killed in action at Hooge on the 30th July 1915 aged 33. He was the son of Aaron and Mary of Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. In 1916 his mother was living at Nottingham Road, Gill Brook, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted on the 30th September 1914 and was living at 139, Longford Road, Derby. On the 27th February 1915 he embarked, destination not given, possibly France. He is commemorated on his parents' memorial at Eastwood Cemetery, Nottinghamshire and he is at rest in Sanctuary Wood Cemetery, Belgium.

(both wars) and that is Joseph from Bedfordshire) It may be this person Private Hardwick WHITTIMORE Deal/1669 (S) Royal Marines, Divisional Train Royal Naval Division . He was born on the 18th July 1885 to George and Sarah of LynnCroft, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire killed in action as a direct result of enemy action on the 2nd January 1916. He is at rest in Lancashire Landing Cemetery, Turkey, including Gallipoli.
