Eastwood War Memorial, Nottinghamshire

These fallen were missed off the original memorial and they were officially recognised on the 15th August 2010.

BATES Arthur Gunner 1828978, 52nd Light Anti Aircraft Regiment died 19th September 1943 aged 27. He is at rest in Salerno War Cemetery, Italy.

BERRY Kenneth, Private 14660182, 2/6th South Staffordshire Regiment died 8/7/1944 aged 19. He is at rest in Cambes-En-Plaine War cemetery, France.

BIRKIN Arthur Edmund, Trooper 7951434, 51st (The Leeds Rifles) Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps died 14/9/1944 aged 23. He is at rest in Gradara War Cemetery, Italy

DUNN William Peter, Aircraftman 2nd Class 2361702 Royal Air Force (VR) died 23rd October 1947. He was the son of Harry and Annie Elizabeth. He is at rest with his parents in Eastwood Cemetery, Nottinghamshire.

GREEN Albert George, Lance Corporal 4980507, 2/6th West Surrey Regiment died 1/11/1943 aged 26. He is at rest in Naples War Cemetery, Italy

HILL Thomas, Private D/24886 Pioneer Corps died 7th October 1945 aged 45. He was the son of George and Phoebe of Eastwood. He is at rest in Eastwood Cemetery, Nottinghamshire.

HOGG Arthur (It may be this person, Born and lived in Nottinghamshire) Private 5776723, 5th Royal Norfolk Regiment died 20/1/1942 aged 22. He is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial, Singapore.

SCARBOROUGH Leonard, Private 4985327 Pioneer Corps died 30th May 1941 aged 27. He is at rest in Eastwood Cemetery, Nottinghamshire.

STIMPSON Dennis Geoffrey, Private 14390912, 6th Green Howards died 10/8/1944 aged 19. He is at rest in St Charles De Percy War Cemetery, France.

WHARTON John Thomas, Gunner 996396 Royal Artillery, died 10th September 1940 aged 29. He was the son of Jack and Annie and was the husband of Nellie May of Kimberley near Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. He is at rest in Eastwood Cemetery, next to his parents, Nottinghamshire.
