E009 Joseph Herbert SHELDON. (George Medal) Commissioned Boatswain, Lord HMS St.Angelo. Killed while defusing a bomb on shore 23rd May 1941 aged 40 years along with Anthony Guterson Rogers. Son of Joseph Herbert and Elizabeth Amy Sheldon, and husband of Elizabeth Sheldon.

Boatswain Sheldon has been involved in bomb disposal in Malta since June 1940, when he volunteered to assist Royal Army Ordnance Corps officers following the first Italian attacks of the war. He was awarded the George Medal in September last year for his work. Since last month Boatswain Sheldon has been in charge of Naval ratings who assist in the uncovering and removal of parachute mines, and all unexploded bombs within Royal Navy premises.

E009 John Clifford BALLANTYNE.M.B., B.S., B.Ch., M.R.C.S. Surgeon-Lieutenant, R.N.V.R., HMS St.Angelo. Accidentally drowned 25th December 1944 aged 30 years, Son of Ethel Elizabeth and John Brown Ballantyne, of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

E009 Reginald Llewellyn PETTY-MAYOR, Mentioned in Despatches, Lieutenant, R.N.V.R., HMS Cava. Died 1st January 1945 aged 37 years. Son of Llewellyn George and Constance Petty-Mayor. 1911 residing with his parents and siblings at 185 Kyverdale Road,Stanford Hill, Hackney, London. Husband of Anna Elisabeth Petty-Mayor, of Southend on Sea, Essex. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence in England was Banavie Brambletye Park Road, Redhill, Surrey. His effects went to his widow.
