He may have been born in 1896 in Gillingham Kent to Frederick Joseph and Eleanor Gibbons nee Mills. Husband of Edith E Gibbons, nee Webb. In 1911 he was residing with his parents at 45 Green Street, Gillingham, Kent.
Wills and Admin, Ancestry. His residence in England was 12 Abbotts Road, Peverll, Plymouth. His effects went to Reginald Bone Solicitor.

NOTICE is hereby given that all creditors and other persons having any claims or demands against the estate of Leonard Ernest Gibbons late of 10 Wellington Street, Chatham, Kent, deceased who died at Malta on the 7th day of July 1940 and whose Will was proved in the Principal Probate Registry on the 3rd day of December 1940 by Reginald Edwin Bone the executor therein named, are hereby required to send particulars in writing of their claims or demands to us the undersigned as Solicitors for the said executor on or before the 3ist day of March 1941 after which date the said executor will proceed to distribute the assets of the said deceased amongst the persons entitled thereto, having regard only to the debts claims and demands of which he shall then have had notice and he will not be liable for the assets of the said deceased or any part thereof so distributed to any person or persons of whose claims or demands he shall not then have had notice.—Dated the 23rd'day of January 1941.
