Private 30785 Ernest George DUTTON, 16th Cheshire Regiment, killed in action
20 August 1916, 26. he was the son of Joseph and Sarah Ellen and husband of
Francis Helen nee White of 1 St Clair Street, formerly 12 St Clair Street, Crewe, Cheshire. He is commemorated on
his parents memorial in St Stephen's churchyard, Congleton and also on the
Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France
Some notes from his Army Record.
He attested 1st December 1915, aged 25 of 29, Swinnerton Street, Crew and gave his occupation as draper.
He married his wife on the 4th August 1915 at St Chad's Wybunbury, Cheshire. He was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal
